Each piece is constructed with a single, continuous strand of steel wire.

Comparable to an ink drawing that is falling slowly off the page, each piece intends to simultaneously pull the viewer’s eye between the two and three-dimensional realm. Although seemingly fixed in a state of permanence, the illustrations are in a constant state of change. The wire’s shadow,  a source of light, captures yet another layer of visual experience and ultimately transcends the confines of the traditional frame.

Medium: Steel wire, cotton thread, and paint on illustration board.
